My colleague Sam emailed you yesterday about our Twitter Space event by 6:PM WAT today — roughly 15 minutes from now.

I will be speaking with Francis Ogbuka, the chief sales officer at Zone Network about how blockchain can play a part in Nigeria's push for a cashless economy.

I wanted to send you a reminder.

You will be able to ask questions.

Can't make it live? We'll have a recording for you. Just use the link above.

Why should you join?

Read Sam's message from yesterday to see why you should care.

Two weeks ago, I attempted to purchase a takeout at a restaurant. I tried to pay with my debit card using the restaurant's POS. After three failed trials, the attendant returned my card, and I had to leave without the food — hungry and angry. Two minutes later, I received three debit alerts in quick succession for these failed transactions!

The restaurant's cashier pointed to a bold disclaimer on the wall, absolving them of all failed POS transactions. She directed me to complain to my bank, which I have done severally since then, to no avail.

Nigerians can most certainly relate to this story.

Zone Network is building a blockchain solution that banks can use to make electronic transactions more reliable so we can have fewer failures.
