Mariblock is a media, research and advisory organization covering Africa’s programmable value economy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it and what choices you have.

Advertising and sponsored content measurement
Mariblock carries two forms of commercial content: display ads and sponsored cards. Display ads appear in designated positions on the page. Sponsored cards appear in feeds alongside editorial content and are clearly labeled.
Advertising on Mariblock is targeted by topic, section and audience segment (such as region or professional role). We do not use cross-site tracking, retargeting pixels or third-party behavioral profiles. Advertisers never receive data that identifies individual readers.
For both formats, we measure:
- Impressions and clicks
- Engagement by content section or placement
- Campaign performance over time
This reporting is aggregate. Advertisers receive campaign performance data, never individual reader data. No third-party ad network scripts run on Mariblock.
Product analytics
We use PostHog, a self-hostable product analytics platform, to understand how people use Mariblock. This includes:
- Page views, navigation paths and feature usage
- Session recordings (with personal data redacted)
- Funnel analysis and retention metrics
PostHog data is used exclusively by the Mariblock team for product decisions. It is not shared with advertisers or third parties.

3. Legal basis for processing
