CAR to tokenize 1,700 hectares of land using meme coin

Touadéra announced that over 1,700 hectares of land in the region will be tokenized through the controversial Solana-based meme coin CAR.
The Central African Republic's ambitious crypto push — from President Touadera's bitcoin legal tender adoption and Sango Coin launch through the Constitutional Court's rejection, legislative pivot to resource tokenization and the controversial $CAR memecoin chapter.

Touadéra announced that over 1,700 hectares of land in the region will be tokenized through the controversial Solana-based meme coin CAR.

Following $CAR’s launch on Sunday, several concerns were raised about the possibility that Touadéra was hacked.

Faustine-Archange Touadéra appeared to have announced the launch of the $CAR memecoin on social media in a manner typical with hacking scams.

Non-nationals of the country can now hold rights to the country’s mineral resources by investing in the Sango coin.

The move follows widespread calls for a change of currency and to end French representation in key decision-making bodies

He said his country has no intention to leave the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC) and will therefore not go against its rules.

The bill will help to create a friendly business environment, says President Touadera.

The verdict follows a petition filed by a local civic group, which opposes the sale of the country's resources.

The event is taking place in the capital city of Bangui on Aug. 24 and 25.
