The node is the fourth Lightning node launched by the group, with the goal of enabling faster Bitcoin payments in Africa.

The new node, dubbed NigeriaFreeRouting, improves the accessibility of payments via the Lightning Network for bitcoin users in Nigeria.

African cryptocurrency company Bitnob has partnered with European exchange CoinCorner to facilitate remittances over the Lightning Network.

Africans can now receive low-cost and fast payments in their local currencies, powered by the Lightning Network. But there are questions on whether the process introduces credit, a feature of the traditional remittance system.

The tickets can be bought digitally on the official ABC website.
