My name is Olanike Akinyemi, and I am sending this email on behalf of Mariblock, a newly launched digital publication aiming to be the CoinDesk for Africa.

I am writing to share a press release with you regarding the announcement of our Lead Editor — Oluwaseun Adeyanju, an experienced writer and journalist who has been working behind the scenes for the last six months.

This announcement is embargoed till Monday (Jan. 9, 2021).

Here’s a link to the press release.

Experienced journalist launches African-native blockchain publication

Oluwaseun has spent over a decade covering financial markets and, more recently, the blockchain space. His byline has appeared in some of the world’s leading publications, including Forbes.com, Investopedia, Motley Fool, TheStreet and Cointelegraph — to name a few.

Excerpt from the press release

You'll find that much of the crypto space is driven by Western narratives and is unrelatable to many Africans. Oluwaseun launched Mariblock to help propagate the African blockchain and digital assets narrative. There are peculiar problems on the continent that blockchain is primed to solve. The Western media simply isn’t incentivized to cover these topics at length. Having an African-native blockchain publication would help spotlight these stories and facilitate equitable adoption.

Would you like to speak with Oluwaseun about Mariblock’s plans to bridge the blockchain information gap in Africa?

Please don’t hesitate to contact me directly if you have further questions.
